Overall objective of the project is to preserve historical and cultural heritage in the cross border region

Specific objective:

  • To preserve local cultural heritage of national and international historical significance through restoration the Turkish bath “Sokullu Mehmed Pasha Hammam” and renovation of National Bulgarian Community Center  “Bratolyubie – 1884”
  • To create favorable conditions for development of cultural tourism in the cross border region
  • To increase public awareness for preserving national traditions and identity and promoting cross border cultural heritage

Project Activities:

  • Tenders for Construction and Supervision of the Repair Works in the  Center “Bratolyubie – 1884”
  • Repair Works in Community Center “Bratolyubie -1884”
  • Tender for Supply of Equipment for the Conference Hall in Sokullu Mehmed Pasha Complex
  • Supply of Equipment for the Conference Hall in Sokullu Mehmed Pasha Complex
  • Tender for services for organization of cultural events
  • Organising Bulgarian – Turkish Folklore Festival in the renovated building of Community Center “Bratolyubie-1884”
  • Organising a photo exhibition “The Cultural Heritage of East Thrace” in the refurbished conference hall in Sokullu Mehmed Pasha Complex

Expected Results:

  • Renovated building of the National Community Center “Bratolyubie”, with covered area of 3 300 sq.m
  • Equipped and furnished conference hall in  the already  restorated Sokullu Mehmed Pasha Complex
  • Protected national cultural and historical heritage
  • Increased knowledge for Bulgarian and Turkish history and national traditions
  • Increased public awareness for preserving national traditions and identity
